The Evil in Devil

Two words resonate with so much fear: evil and devil. All devil concepts are evil. In all evil exorcism movies, the devil is present. Deliver Us From Evil is a new exorcist movie opening on July 2, 2014, starring Eric Bana and Edgar Ramirez.

The Devil and demons take on many different shapes and forms. In popular movies such as Case 39, The Possession, The Exorcist, The Rite, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Last Exorcism, and the upcoming Deliver Us From Evil, we see evil disguise itself in humans.

Vulnerable human beings are prone to possession. Evil manipulates people to carry out insidious plans, influencing them to mimic their thoughts.

Evil is taken from the Devil. Of course, the Devil is evil. Watch Deliver Us From Evil on July 2, 2014.

Cloud Atlas is too confusing for average moviegoers

Cloud Atlas opened up in the movie box office to dismal earnings. The metaphysical movie collected a disappointing $9.6 million in its opening weekend.

Cloud Atlas stars two major A-listers in Tom Hanks, Halle Berry and Susan Sarandon. This movie is on the verge of becoming one of the biggest box office bombs of 2012. There is a reason Cloud Atlas failed to materialize into a blockbuster.

Metaphysical movies transcend time and space. Cloud Atlas is a spiritual movie about people who somehow move about time in different physical bodies. Their spiritual core is reborn in another body, alongside the same exact person in their previous life.

In a sense, reincarnation is in effect throughout the movie experience. We watch these characters gravitate toward another character. Such a complex movie is far above average moviegoers.

Action movies perform well enough to keep moviegoers returning. It doesn't take much thought to watch action movies. However, metaphysical movies involve deeper meanings. Spiritual and religious movies require additional viewings to analyze.

Watch Cloud Atlas with an open mind. It is worth your time to experience movies confronting life. Enjoy Cloud Atlas!

Metaphysics in Movies

Metaphysics is becoming an intricate part of movies. We can learn from metaphysics to improve the quality of life.

Metaphysics in movies is shaping the movie world. Thus, moviegoers are exposed to countless movies with underlying physical and nonphysical meanings. Hollywood is conveying to their fans that metaphysics is the force behind high concept ideas. Have you noticed there are more artsy movies? Metaphysics in movies is the answer to making films that provide educational value.

Metaphysics is portrayed as metaphysical movies. Concepts convey the questions associated with the "beyond physical" element of being. In metaphysical movies, we content that ghosts are in fact real. Where do people go after death? Is there an astral world and or subplanes?

The Green Mile reveals the spiritual powers an innocent prisoner possesses. This character can heal people with his touch. We know these powers are metaphysical. There is no obvious way to explain this miracle healer. Thus, metaphysics in movies capture the essence of the unexplained. We have evidence that ghosts are real. Science disapproves that entities are actual spirits with a clear explanation of their presence in the physical world.

Astral projection is another mystery that is meant to be recognized as science fiction. Nonetheless, people share their astral projection experiences to prove that astral traveling to the astral world is real. Leaving the physical body through an out of body experience (OBE) is scientifically unsupported, though the act is physically possible. We have astral dreams that demonstrate lucid dreaming as being real.

Metaphysics in the movies delver into a number of concepts. The Lovely Bones explores the astral worlds of the afterlife. The main character is murdered after trusting a neighbor. She becomes an astral being, moving about the astral world to comfort her family. Her main goal is to help solve a gruesome murder - herself. Past murder victims occupy the astral worlds until their cases are solved. Therefore, moviegoers watch the metaphysics of the astral worlds in play to form an opinion of the afterlife.

Metaphysics is also about explaining the world of spirituality. Some people connect metaphysics to a moderate form of religion. However, the discipline relates to philosophical reasoning rather than actual reality. We have faith in God, Jesus, Allah and various religious entities. Is there actual proof to support The Bible's stories. Can a man walk on water? Did Moses part the seas to lead his followers down the path? These are events which are questionable to those who study metaphysics. Miracles occur with no possible explanation. Therefore, miracles come from God and the Heavens.

Analyze metaphysical movies to find metaphysics as the catalyst. Metaphysics in the movies capture the essence of reality. What is that we are trying to prove in metaphysical movies? What powers do these characters possess? I Am Number Four portrays an adolescent characters with magical powers. Harry Potter possesses unimaginable powers unexplained in the physical world. Powder and  the Cocoon are metaphysical movies which explore metaphysics.

Metaphysics in movies is an exciting high concept which attempts to explain questions related to nonphysical issues. You will leave metaphysical movies discovering new realities of the world. In essence, metaphysics adds a mixture of being and knowing to anchor metaphysical movies.

The Adjustment Bureau Movie Review

Original publication date: March 4, 2011

Matt Damon and Emily Blunt star in The Adjustment Bureau, a film that resembles Serendipity's fate design. Will fate bring them together? Or will fate drive them apart?

The Adjustment Bureau shows the journey a man will take to find his soulmate. The opening scene surveys a confident David Norris (Matt Damon), a Congressional Representative attempting to run for a U.S. Senate seat in the state of New York. In a series of shots, David is shown addressing the community well on his way to election night. He is standout public figure in New York City as well as in his hometown of Brooklyn.

David will soon meet his soulmate Elise Sellas (Emily Blunt). Elise is crashing a wedding in the same hotel as David's concession speech. Elise's sexy English accent puts David in a trance. Do David and Elise meet by change? Or does fate bring them together for that one moment? Minutes after David and Elise magically connect, they must separate. David is inspired to give his concession speech with confidence.

The Adjustment Bureau are agents of destiny with bigger plans. They are ordered by a higher power to keep David and Elise apart. It is essentially written in "black and white" that David and Elise must never be together. David is positioned again to reunite with Elise on a bus. Harry Mitchell (Anthony Mackie), an agent of fate, snoozes on his job to prevent David and Elise from meeting again. David and Elise's future success depend on them to remain apart.

Elise is a talented dancer hoping to become a national dancing star. David wants to win the Senate seat, an is destined to become the future President of the United States. If Elise and David cross the same path, they will never accomplish their dreams. The agents of fate go the distance to ensure David and Elise are disconnected, even using magical doors throughout New York City to travel across the city. Nothing will deny David the love he seeks in Elise.

Harry helps David find Elise, the woman of his dreams. He warns David that Elise being "enough" will hold him back from making a run for the U.S. Presidency. Additionally, Harry has an underlying redemption to lessen the remorse experienced after the death of David's father. It is at this moment the audience learns of Harry's motivation to help David.

David puts Elise on an emotional roller coaster ride throughout the film. David constantly changes his mind without revealing his true intentions. Elise is confused on whether to move on without David, or to move on with her life. She knows that David is the perfect man, which holds her back from accepting less.

Matt Damon and Emily Blunt are perfect together. The two actors show magical chemistry, transforming the movie experience into an unforgettable journey to find love against the powerful force of fate standing in the way of their love to protect their dreams. The audience realize that David and Elise's love is their dream.

Every person in life chooses their own path. Those who want more out of life will find success and true love. David and Elise choose love over their dreams. The Adjustment Bureau is a film about taking chances and making decisions outside of fate's design to find happiness.

Sucker Punch movie review

Original publication date: March 25, 2011

Sucker Punch took moviegoers on an astral travel adventure into a fantasy world. Female mental patients attempting to escape the horrors of reality in a mental asylum employed their dream senses into action. Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, and Scott Glenn delivered great performances to woo the audience. In a stunning display of visual aesthetics, visionary director and writer Zach Snyder carefully crafted his film with a multitude of crafty canter angles and vivid scenery.

The sexy blonde Babydoll (Emily Browning) loses her mother. Her younger sister and her are left with a step father who is only interested in a will the mother leaves behind as well as seducing the daughters. Babydoll attempts to defend her sister from the wrath of the stepfather, but she ends up shooting and killing her by accident. Every angle within the opening scene is designed to add visual depth to the upcoming fantasy. The alternative music sets the tone, separating fantasy from reality.

Babydoll is temporarily disconnected from reality moments after being apprehended and sedated by the police. The stepfather delivers Babydoll to a mental asylum on top of a hill. The mental institute director, Blue (Oscar Isaac), briefs the stepfather on living arrangements and activities Babydoll will partake in while under their care.

Stunning Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens), cute Abbie Cornish (Sweet Pea), tough-minded and attractive Rocket (Jena Malone), sexy Amber (Jamie Chung) and Wise Man (Scott Glenn) work together on several war missions against the most ruthless antagonists in the fantasy world. The stunning visual display creates a dark world full of challenges, requiring the girls to obtain five items (map, fire, knife, key, and one last mystery item) to gain their freedom.

Babydoll takes her new friends on astral travel missions to challenge their inner self. Led by wise man, the girls fight everything from German soldiers to samurai warriors in order to advance to the next level. Babydoll's astral projection takes place seconds after she begins to dance, opening a portal to enter a high octane world.

The fantasy unfolds into several stages. The essential goal is to fight the enemy, and then to secure five items needed to escape the control of Blue, Madam Gorski (Carla Gugino), and the dance club (asylum). In the fantasy world, Babydoll and the girls are skilled fighters equipped with precision moves and skills, giving them the power to defeat their dark enemies.

Wise Man delivers an inspiring new quote to open every new mission such as "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything". Sucker Punch sends the audience on an exploration into the fantasy of five girls who fight to be free. Babydoll's astral travel removes the girls from the horrors of reality to find a sense of higher truth. In order for one to find freedom, four weaker girls must sacrifice their sanity to save the stronger girl.

Zach Snyder's Sucker Punch is a visually stunning movie that transforms a mental institution into a fantasy within a fantasy. Sucker Punch is a story filled with many plot layers and allegorical elements, representing the journey one must take to escape reality. The theme of the movie shows that any person is capable of overcoming impossible obstacles and challenges to succeed. Watch Sucker Punch with an open mind to leave the theater with a rewarding experience.

The leading stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Monaghan light up the screen with perfect chemistry. The Source Code is a sci-fi thriller that opened ahead of the Box Office Weekend pack. Only a few dozen moviegoers showed up to watch an early midnight screening. The leading stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Monaghan light up the screen with perfect chemistry. Duncan Jones' Source Code takes the audience on a journey within the mind of Colter Stevens, a Captain in the U.S. Armed Forces serving a mission in Afghanistan. The Source Code is a cross between Inception and Passengers.

A top-secret government experiment, the Source Code, enables the military and scientists to send Captain Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) into the last 8 minutes before a train explodes. Colter wakes up as a disoriented passenger in a Chicago train, without having a clue of his whereabouts. Christina is a beautiful woman who supposedly is on her last train ride. She is concerned about Colter's agitated behavior, addressing Colter by another name. At this point of the movie, the audience is just as confused as Colter.

The Chicago train heads down a path to destruction. Christina constantly follows Colter to make sure he is fine. She has a secret crush on Colter, but her feelings are not revealed until toward the end of the movie. In the mind and imaginary body of a schoolteacher, Colter can move around with the same functionality as a living human.

Once the first 8 minutes expire, the bomb explodes on the train and kills every passenger onboard. Colter wakes up as Captain Stevens, strapped into tight space in the middle of nowhere. Colleen Goodwin (Vera Farmiga) is an enlisted Air Force enlisted member assigned to keep the mission on track. She addresses Colter as Captain Stevens, but refuses to brief him on the mission in hand.

Colter is sent back to the train again and again, albeit each time he fails to find the bomber. After the 8-minute mission expires, the train explodes again. Colter demands answers from Dr. Rutledge (Jeffrey Wright), the acting chief scientist of the Source Code program. As complicated as the answer seems, Dr. Rutledge and Goodwin leave out the real mystery of Captain Stevens' status as a soldier.

The astral travel experience sends the audience into another man’s mind to piece together the events leading up to a train explosion. Source Code delivers another Déjà vu storyline with a goal to prevent another terrorist disaster within another dimension of time. Colter’s affection for Christina reminds many dreamers of meeting the perfect soulmate in a dream, only for such an experience to vanish into thin air. Once Colter discovers that he is also deceased, he fights to save Christina and the passengers from dying in the train explosion.

Source Code is a movie about showing the moral value of serving others, doing for the greater of good and not asking for anything in return. One question continues to surface in the movie; what would one do if they knew there was only one minute of time remaining in their life? Life is too short to whine and complain about shortcomings. Will Colter and Christina be given a chance to experience love in a fantasy? Will their time together end once the mission is accomplished?

The recurring astral projection theme represents a mission to save a train full of passengers who are already dead in real time, but have a real opportunity to live a life within the Source Code (imaginary world). Duncan Jones’ Source Code will make moviegoers think about the value of life and how one moment can change their fate. I left the movie realizing we must enjoy every moment and appreciate our family, friends, and even strangers to live a healthy life.

The Woman in Black movie review

horror.about.com
James Watkins's The Woman in Black was released in the movie box office on February 3, 2012. Since the AMC 16 movie theater in Burbank features a $6 movie admission on first showings, I decided to watch The Woman in Black to write a movie review on Metaphysical Movies. The movie theater was rather busy for a Saturday 11:35 am showing. Horror movie fans appeared ready to watch a good horror flick starring former Harry Potter lead star Daniel Radcliffe.

Three small girls play tea party with their dolls. All of sudden, the girls fall into a trance. They step on their tea set, walking in the direction of the three window partitions. The girls simultaneously open the window latches, and then jump to their death. A woman's voice screams in shock to the dead girls.

Our favorite Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe plays Arthur Kipps, a lawyer that is trying to rebound after his wife passed away four years prior. He imagines his late wife in a mind flash. Arthur's young son Joseph (played by Misha Handley) draws a picture of farther, housekeeper and his mother as an Angel in Heaven.

Arthur accepts a legal position to read important documents in a distant home in Northern England. this professional opportunity represents his last chance to redeem himself with his law firm. In the train ride, Arthur meets Mr. Daily (Ciaran Hinds), rich businessman traveling back home. As a result, the two men hold a formal discussion.

Mr. Daily drives Arthur in a rainy storm to a local hotel. You sense there is something obviously wrong when the innkeeper refuses to give Arthur a room. However, the innkeeper's wife refuses to send Arthur out into the rain again. She shows him to an attic room, the same setting shown in the opening scene with the three girls committing suicide.

We later learn that there is a woman in black that lost her son in a carriage accident. She commits suicide shortly after, but holds any parent accountable to his son's death. The woman in black is capable of brainwashing a child to commit suicide. It is an eerie move theme to watch children kill themselves freely without showing any fear whatsoever.

The Woman in Black is a metaphysical movie about a supernatural force carrying out a vengeance. The female spirit will never forgive the death of her son. Arthur assumes that reuniting the women in black with the body of her deceased son can break the superstitious curse plaguing the small town. Mr. Daily also lost his son in a drowning accident. He refuses to believe in shadows and ghosts.

In the end, Mr. Daily changes his stance after seeing his son appear in the haunted estate. Arthur thinks that giving the deceased woman her son will save his own son. The movie ending is one of the best in recent time. We find resolution in the movie theme to realize that a dark outcome is indeed positive closure to a broken family.

The Woman in Black is an well written metaphysical/ghost movie with a hint of horror to entertain horror movie fans. The moviegoer will become confused in the beginning, but then learns more about the backstory through the death of children, seeing the dead woman in black, reading notes and cards with underlying clues, and watching two girls die in brutal ways.

If you enjoy astral horror movies, James Watkins'sThe Women in Black movie is an excellent watch. Daniel Radcliffe moves past his Harry Potter days to lead this metaphysical/ghost movie with many similarities to The Sixth Sense, Stir of Echoes, and The Grudge. The moviegoer will leave the movie theater with a renewed interest in good horror movies with a great movie ending.

The Metaphysics in Source Code movie

Jake Gyllenhaal plays Colter Stevens in Duncan Jones' Source Code. The movie is about a military soldier carrying out a mission to mind project to a doomed trained. Colter must enter the mind of a deceased male passenger to locate information to help investigate the bomber. The Source Code movie is about metaphysics.

Source Code is a movie about metaphysics. In our real world, there is no science that enables a human to take over a mind of a deceased person in a doomed trained. It is like planting a mind in the mind of 9/11 victim moments prior to the towers collapsing into rumble. This form of science doesn't exist in our world. If we can mind project into murdered victims to learn about their murderers, then we would not need forensics. Some might identify Source Code as a psychic medium that can envision the past.

Metaphysics is defined as beyond physics. Everything we believe in as human is deemed as physical. It represents the essence of scientific discoveries. People who lived in the early 1900s might have considered H.G. Wells' The Time Machine novel about the future computer world as metaphysics. We live in a computer age that continues to expand with no end in sight.

The Source Code movie explores an unrealistic scientific experiment. Sending a comatose soldier back into the last 8 minutes of another deceased passenger is impossible in modern science. Colter moves about the train in the body of another to interact with people. He activates his senses to smell, hear, taste, touch, and see real events preceding the train explosion.

Therefore, the last 8 minutes in the train is depicted as an astral world. It is a nonexistent dimension beyond reality. Colter proves that he can survive without his physical body. In the movie ending, his mind lives in the new world. He can travel in an alternate dimension beyond reality.

Why is Source Code a movie about metaphysics? The Source Code movie conveys mind projection and or astral projection. Colter astral projects to the doomed trained to investigate the bomber. You can consider the mind travel as lucid dreaming. Colter called his father while in the train. In reality, the train is already a distant memory. The train passengers are dead.

We have no known experiments or devices that enable a human to assume the physical cavity of an astral being in another dimension. Metaphysics is about questioning the act of being. Why are we here? Are Aliens and the supernatural real? Is there an afterlife? Science is unable prove yet that life exists on other planets.

Source Code shows an unrealistic scientific experiment far beyond our time. Is this mind travel device real? No it is not. Can we mind project to another world to take over an astral being? Astral projection experts believe it is possible to astral travel to any location.

Source Code is far more advanced than astral projection. You can form your perception about Source Code and metaphysics. In my opinion, the Source Code movie is all about metaphysics because it can't be explained. It is a movie beyond science. However, the closest experiment to convey mind projection in the Source Code is remote viewing.

I Am Number Four movie review

D.J. Caruso's I Am Number Four (2011) is a metaphysical movie released in movie theaters on February 18, 2011. The movie is based on Pitticus Lore's I Am Number Four novel. The I Am Number Four movie brings the nostalgia back with conveying the high school scene, a genre that ruled the 80's movie era. Screenwriters Alfred Gough, Miles Millar and Marti Noxon teamed up to deliver the I Am Number Four novel to the silver screen. D.J. Caruso's I Am Number Four movie captures the essence of science fiction interwoven with metaphysical themes. NASA's recent Keppler-22b planet discovery questions whether there is life outside of Earth. I Am Number Four sought after answering such questions.

Nine descendants of Lorien escape the wrath of the Mogodorians. Super teenager John Smith (Alex Pettyfer) known as Number Four travels with his guardian Henri (Timothy Olyphant) from town to town. All nine Lorien descendants separated with their guardians, journeying across the Earth to protect the last of their kind. The Numbers' each have a story to tell, but will they survive to tell their tale?

The Mogodorians kill number Three, a warning that John receives through an underwater vision. Two previous scars are embedded on his leg, conveying the murder of Number One and Number Two. The third death forms a third scar, though the vision is unlike the two previous deaths. John's unexplained underwater light show alerts Henri to immediately relocate again because new media travels rather quickly to alert the enemy of their possible location.

The ogre looking Mogodorians draw closer to John and Henri's. John narrates his story, telling moviegoers that he is Number Four, a descendent of Lorien. He explains the death of his planet, shares the tension of the three deaths and informs the audience he is next on the hit list. An unknown hot blond bike rider destroys the remaining evidence John and Henri leave behind. It is obvious she holds superhuman powers. The Mogodorians sniff the decoy evidence left behind, discovering that Number Four is still alive.

John and Henri settle in a countryside home located on the outskirts of Cleveland, Ohio. John decides to attend the local high school, blending in again to remain inconspicuous. He makes a "love at first sight" connection with the exquisite Sarah Hart (played by Dianna Agron) while registering at the administration office.

Sara is intrigued to meet John Smith, though she questions whether he is playing games with her on his real name. We all know John Smith is too common of a name. Sara feels a warmth that influences her to snapshot pictures of the new mystery student.

The Mogodorians travel along the country road with creatures. John meets high school friends, a few football jocks and a bullied student Sam (played Callen McAuliffe), who is a X-Files dreamer with the passion to discover the existence of life beyond Earth. The metaphysical theme explores the quest to answer questions about Sam's father's whereabouts. Are their Ancient astronauts? Was his father crazy for believing in Aliens?

John and Sara become good friends. While at the dinner table, John experiences a warming moment watching Sara's family laugh together. The happy atmosphere reminds John of a family connection he misses and wants. Sara invites John to her room. John tells Sara she is lucky to have a nice family while flipping through the pages of Sara's most secret picture collages. We realize these two teenagers are clearly infatuated with one another.

Sara's former boyfriend Mark James (played by Jake Abel) continues to bully Sam. John attempts to ignore Sara due to Mark firing off a verbal warning shot, but his temptation is too intense to let go of the girl he loves most. John roughs up the high school jocks at a nearby haunted amusement park. Sam discovers John is beyond physical. John and Sara kiss for the first time. It is obvious that John is excited after the kiss. He burns out the light posts on a downtown street. We feel the pure nature in a community atmosphere which is consistent with small towns. Another metaphysical movie Final Destination 3 portrays a Four of July gathering at the community park.

John informs Sam that his father's lifelong work is accurate, that there are Ancient astronauts. He asks Sam to keep everything secret to prevent trouble. Henri and John get involved into a fight, which John puts his superpower strength on display. Henri tells John that Lorien's love forever, therefore, Sara will always remain John's first and only love.

Sara wants to learn who John really is, text messaging, "Who are you"? Law enforcement attempt to apprehend John. In result, John flips the police cars back with his superpowers. Sara and teenagers watch in awe of the mind-boggling moment. We begin to think back to the Superman 2 movie when Christopher Reeve saves Metropolis in a city showdown.

Local UFO hunters kidnap Henri to honor their agreement established with the Mogodorians. John and Sam rescue Henri. However, the escape critically wounds Henri. John sadly watches Henri die in his arms, blowing away into the air as dust particles. Whereas we feel John is alone, we also discover he is ready to carry out the legacy of Lorien.

John and the blond Number Six girl team up to fight against the Mogodorians in a final showdown at the high school. John learns his dog is an actual protector sent from Lorien. The Power of Number Four and Number Six combined deliver super action in the climatic ending. The Mogodorians are destroyed, though more of their kind are already on path to kill the remaining descendants of Lorien. John says goodbye to Sara, sharing with her that his love is infinite. Sam joins Number Four and Number Six to venture out West. I Am Number Four leaves open a possible The Power of Six movie in the upcoming future.

D.J. Caruso's I Am Number Four delivers an action-packed metaphysical thrill ride. The acting performance is so surreal, moviegoers find the movie taking them on an astral travel journey into fantasy. You want to become John to get the girl and to hold unlimited powers. We all desire to be a part of something bigger than our existence. Humans question whether there is beyond Earth. NASA's Keppler-22b planet discovery demonstrates that distant planets may hold life forms as intelligent as humans.

The I Am Number movie conveys the metaphysics of being, depicting the Superman story of a distant superhuman Alien attempting to assimilate into human culture. Are we alone? Will distant travelers send us a signal? Can we astral project to witness the impossible? Watch I Am Number Four with an open mind to think beyond the state of being.

The Mothman Prophecies and Metaphysics

The Mothman Prophecies starring Richard Gere, Laura Linney and Debra Messing taps into the metaphysical world. We know for a fact there is no such thing as a Mothman predicting future events. Even so, the study of metaphysics portrays the events which are beyond physical belief. The Mothman Prophecies is a metaphysical movie that captures the essence of metaphysics with creatures making accurate predictions.

Metaphysical movies question the physical reality of an event. Science disapproves of metaphysical events, beings, and worlds. Are Aliens real? Can people become possessed? The Mothman Prophecies is a daunting movie to watch, especially when characters fear their Mothmen encounters. The Mothman Prophecies is based on a story about actual Mothman events connected to the collapse of a Virginia bridge. In result of the bridge collapse, dozens of people fall to their death in the ice cold water.

The metaphysics of The Mothman Prophecies movie is the element of prediction associated with the human-like Mothamen creatures appearing as messengers. These moth creatures produce a bright light, conveying to human subjects of events forthcoming. The metaphysical movie is consistent with the Mayan Calendar and 2012 end of the world events.

John (Richard Gere) chooses to investigate the frightening image his wife draws before she dies of a brain tumor. This scene is most troubling. We learn of Mary's (Debra Messing) death after witnessing a Mothman strike the windshield. Soon after accident, the physician diagnoses Mary with a brain tumor. The metaphysics involved with Mary is her reappearance in the Virginia town. Watching the deceased Mary walk around the town gives moviegoers goose bumps. We know that deceased people are incapable of traveling as their physical self. However, Mary walks freely around the town to search for John.

Mothmen are known to take the shape of any human. Mary's sighting after her death demonstrates that these metaphysical creatures are powerful beings with out-of-this-world powers. Metaphysics also deals with spirituality, possession, ghosts, supernatural, Aliens and the unknown. Even exorcisms are portrayed as the unexplained or beyond physical. We can't explain how demons occupy the human body. The Mothmen hold mystical powers like the angeles depicted in the Knowing movie.

Watch The Mothman Prophecies to see metaphysics in movies. Metaphysical movies are educational since they deal with unexplained mysteries.

The Skeleton Key and Metaphysical Movies

Kate Hudson stars in The Skeleton Key (2005), a movie about Hoodoo, curses, and possession. The Skeleton Key movie depicted the evil that resides in a New Orleans home. An African American housekeeper put a curse on the home. In result, the plantation home contains a dark evil past. The swamp that surrounds the plantation property adds to the mystery of the evil Hoodoo that traps all souls who venture into the cursed home.

Caroline Ellis (Kate Hudson) accepts a job as a hospice worker to care for an old man. The old man experienced a mystery stroke, neither speaking nor capable of moving around as much anymore. The metaphysical concept conveyed in the movie is the power of evil practiced through Hoodoo and possession. The old man is unable to warn Caroline of the evil curse inside the home.

Caroline experiences many strange moments attributed to the home itself. The old man wants to communicate with Kate, but he is unable to speak. The wife seems to be distant, though it is obvious that she is holding secret back. The Hoodoo curse is rather evil and disturbing.

It is learned that a past African American housekeeper put a curse on the home using evil black magic powers. The Hoodoo dark magic enables a spirit to jump from one body to another. Therefore, the act of possession is utilized through practicing African Hoodoo dark magic.

Caroline is later possessed. Her soul is exchanged with the past Hoodoo spirit that resides in the old woman. The lawyer's spirit is trapped in the old man. The African spirits jump from body to body. Caroline and the lawyer's physical bodies are now occupied with the African descendants. Caroline and the lawyer are now interested befriending Caroline's young female friend to possess her physical body.

Metaphysical movies convey beyond physical concepts such as spiritual, Aliens, magic, possession, ghosts, lucid dreaming, and other types of movies. The Skeleton Key is a dark magic movie that falls within the metaphysics realm rather than science.

Metaphysical Movies with M. Night Shayamalan

Have you ever noticed that M. Night Shayamalan's movies feature metaphysical themes? M. Night writes and directs metaphysical movies which are extremely successful in the box office. Do you want to watch metaphysical movies? M. Night Shayamalan makes good metaphysical movies.

M. Night Shayamalan launched his Hollywood career with The Sixth Sense. Bruce Willis starred in The Sixth Sense, a movie about a young boy who has the sixth sense to communicate with dead people. During the time The Sixth Sense reached the movie theaters in 1999, the movie immediately transformed M. Night into an instant celebrity.

The Sixth Sense crossed the $200 million domestic box office mark, and then continued to surge ahead to land at $293 million in box office ticket sales. M. Night sold his Unbreakable screenplay to Disney soon after The Sixth Sense surpassed the $100 million mark. I'm sure the Disney executives never thought The Sixth Sense would reach $293 million in total ticket sales in the U.S. Box Office.

M. Night's movies are all metaphysical themes which are virtually impossible (physical sense) except for The Sixth Sense movie. For the most part, psychic mediums can communicate with the dead. If you want to watch good metaphysical movies, check out M. Night Shayamalan's film resume.

M. Night Shayamalan's movies

  • The Sixth Sense
  • Unbreakable
  • Signs
  • The Village
  • Lady in the Water
  • The Happening
  • The Last Airbender
You may question what metaphysical themes are within these movies. Metaphysical movies are essentially movies beyond reality. If Aliens arrive on Earth tomorrow, then Alien movies will fall under nonfiction. There is no physical proof to suggest that a child can communicate with the dead. Psychic children are know to share their experiences with the dead, but these are mostly personal accounts rather than physical evidence.

No person is strong enough to withstand a train accident which no living survivor surfaces beyond Bruce Willis. Recently, a few children have survived plane accidents where all passengers were killed. The Village depicts a town that resides in another portal.

In reality, there is no such thing as a hidden village. Lady in the Water is about a mermaid from a fairy tale world that is trapped within the physical world. The Happening portrays the trees as deadly to humans. Lastly, The Last Airbender chronicles a young Avatar that must save the nations from its demise.

M. Night Shayamalan makes movies about metaphysics. His metaphysical movies are consistent with themes beyond physical. We view these movies as we do with I Am Number Four, Knowing, Insidious, Sucker Punch, Source Code, and other metaphysical movies.  Thanks for reading.
