M. Night Shayamalan set to write and direct 1000 A.E.: Will Smith and Jayden Smith to join cast

M. Night Shayamalan last directed The Last Airbender. The metaphysical movie scored $300 million in the worldwide box office. According to Entertainment Weekly, M. Night Shayamalan will write and direct a futuristic horror movie 1000 A.E., a movie set 1000 years into the future.

The movie is a cross between an end of the world and metaphysical theme. M. Night will also have access to a superstar actor in Will Smith and up and coming star in son Jayden Smith. The father and son duo enabled The Pursuit of Happyness movie to score a big hit in 2006. M. Night is famously known for adding a top Hollywood star to his movies.

Bruce Willis starred in both The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. Mel Gibson carried the movie load along with Joaquin Phoenix in Signs. Joaquin Phoenix again starred in The Village with Academy Award winner Adrien Brody and Alien's star Sigourney Weaver. Paul Giamatti filled The Lady in the Water movie role. Mark Wahlberg played the role as a high school teacher in the horror movie The Happening.

Will Smith has starred in many blockbuster movies. We can count on the M. Night and Will Smith tandem to deliver the box office goods. For the most part, end of the world movies are in high demand.
There is no movie release date set for the 1000 A.E. futuristic end of the world movie.

Sony Pictures appears to have already green lighted the horror movie project. According to EW, M. Night Shayamalan noted that working with Will Smith on a horror movie is his "dream project". We all know that Will Smith performed great in his last zombie horror blockbuster movie I Am Legend.

Will Smith and M. Night Shayamalan movie fans can expect a great end of the world horror movie in the near future. M. Night Shayamalan's 1000 A.E. will star Will Smith and his son Jayden Smith.
